  3. You have to get a permit to replace a fence? Who knew?

i tried to replace some ugly broken patio stones in my house along with some window trim and I was shut down by the city building inspector for unpermitted work...do they have too much time on their hand or something?

  5. Well, I called the city last year to ask if I needed a permit to remove a big tree and they said no, if it's on my property I can do whatever I want. So I used the lumber to build a garage on my roof and rented it to avian-human hybrids. They're good tenants for the most part, but you don't want to walk under their balcony after dinner.
