Seems to me that what New Balance is proposing would do a whole lot more to improve the neighborhood than a big box home improvement store ever could.

Could it be possible that the city use eminent domain in the case that the owner doesn't want to sell?
ReplyDeleteThere is no way a lowes can hold any ground what-so-ever against this proposal (even as it has yet to be announced.)
I don't think eminent domain is needed. When Menino tells Carole Brennan that he will not approve a Lowe's, no matter how much they downsize it, then Marathon Realty will sell the land to New Balance.
