ReplyDeleteI was actually at the party that the victims were leaving when they were attacked, although I had left maybe an hour or two before that. The people stabbed are good friends of mine. The girl that got stabbed is barely 18 years old. The people came out of a house on Linden St. and asked the victims for a cigarette. The victims didn't have an extra cigarette, but were a bit intimidated and offered to share the one they were smoking with the guys.
ReplyDeleteBy the end of the cigarette, the 4 guys were telling the victims to give up their money and starting beating on 2 of the male victims, one of which fought back valiantly, but ended up finally on the ground with the assailants kicking him in the face. They injured his sinuses very badly, with his face ending up swollen out more than an inch across the bridge of his nose.
The other victims by that time had run back to the house they had been at and were pounding on the door. My sister was in her car with a couple of other people and saw them run back. She is the one that ended up calling the police, just as the 4 assailants ran up on the people trying to get back in the house and stabbed them right there in the front of the house.
The girl had a stab wound to the stomach. One of the guys also got stabbed in the stomach. The third guy got slashed across his arm. The two with stomach wounds both ended up having to go through emergency surgery that morning at Beth Israel, but both are doing ok now.
Neighbors, if you see or hear something like this happening, do not run! Go up there and do something! If you don't protect your own neighborhood and neighbors, do you really think anyone else will?
Are these incidents connected in any way and is there any picture or description of the assailant?
